It was a great way to end a fantastic afternoon out with the girls. Our server was excellent and did not miss a beat, she also graciously gave us a platter of biscotti on the house for dessert, and the manager gave everyone biscotti to take home. The sandwich choices came with delicious steak fries that were more like homemade potato chips. We moved onto an assortment of entrees, shrimp piccata, chicken parm, sweet potato ravioli, fish tacos and grilled chicken. It had a mixture of cheeses, carmelized onions and crispy bacon, it was a great starter. We decided to share the mac and cheese with bacon as an appetizer and everyone agreed it was the best we’ve ever had. with wine and cocktails from their extensive list. We were seated in our own private room with a window looking into the kitchen like a chef’s table. Salute is at the top of my list for the occasional trips we take to Hartford - what a gem! MoreĪfter seeing the Van Gogh experience at the Convention Center, ten of us had an absolutely wonderful lunch at Salute on Trumbull St. We never once felt rushed to leave (which might have been reasonable since we sat down at 1:15 and didn't leave until 4:15). Honestly, it was a homerun from the woman who took my reservation to the genuine smiles of the waitstaff I passed on my way to the restroom before we left. The ambiance was welcoming and comfortable - groups of friends, couples, a birthday celebration, and we felt like we were just one of the family. Our lunch was delicious - crabcake on a brioche and the grilled chicken sandwich accompanied by a field green side salad that was exceptional (the SIDE salad was exceptional!) we shared an authentic (Italian) cannoli dessert that was scrumptious.
